I BELIEVE IN THE TWO ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

What does it look like when an invisible, spiritual reality becomes something we can see and touch? That is the question at the heart of this powerful message on the two ordinances of the church. Drawing from Acts 2:41-42, we explore how the early believers did not simply hold private convictions about Christ but expressed those convictions publicly and physically. Baptism and the Lord's Supper are not steps toward earning salvation but visible declarations that salvation has already been accomplished. Baptism paints a stunning picture: going under the water mirrors the death and burial of Christ, and rising back up mirrors His resurrection. When we are baptized, we are not just getting wet, we are telling our own story alongside His. We are saying that the old life is buried and a new life has begun. The Lord's Supper carries equal weight, inviting us to hold in our hands the very symbols of what Christ sacrificed. The broken bread and the cup are not mere ritual, they are a proclamation that spans from the cross all the way to His promised return. In a world that often demands proof and struggles with the unseen, these two ordinances give our faith something to hold onto, something that speaks to both the heart and the hands.
